Hosting

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which acts as the technical party for delivery of the site. We do not place cookies and we do not use tracking tools of any kind. No analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers are loaded. The site collects no personal data beyond what you choose to send us by email.

Content of the journal

Common Ground is an online journal about parks, play, and public open space. The current edition and its main sections can be found on the home page and in the open space section. Related material includes parks, surveys, mapping, and the historical overview PPG17 to NPPF. Separate sections cover play and sport and children's play.

Sources

Articles draw on published government planning documents, local authority policies, research reports, and material supplied by practitioners and community groups. Where a claim rests on a specific source, the source is named in the article itself. Historical statements about organisations such as the former playspace and open space bodies referenced in the journal are presented in the third person and reflect the records available at the time of writing.
